The board certified radiologists of VICSD offer a superior “Second Opinion” teleradiology service to the veterinarians of Southern California. This service is similar to the radiology services offered in most human hospitals.

Having all of your radiographs sent for a second opinion is the single most important step a veterinarian can take to increase the level of medicine performed at their hospital. Our years of working in referral practices have shown us that most of the errors made by veterinarians are errors of omission. Errors of omission are lesions that are missed on radiographs considered to be ‘normal’ on first look.

Teleradiology makes the possibility of having a board certified veterinary radiologist working in every veterinary practice a reality.

VICSD offers a guaranteed 24-hour turnaround for all referrals. However, our motto is that we “don’t let the sun go down on a case in our inbox!” So the turnaround time is generally in the order of only a few hours. Our board certified radiologists are always working at the imaging center ready for teleradiology referrals

Teleradiology cases are best sent through DVMInsight our teleradiology service designed to service the veterinarians of Southern California. Other avenues for referral are also available. Depending on your hospital radiology system we may be able to retrieve images directly from your hospital. We can also work with any 3rd party solution to offer you a second opinion on your radiographs.
