Seth Wallack, DVM Diplomate, A.C.V.R.
Board Certified Specialist in Veterinary Radiology

Dr. Wallack received his veterinary degree and completed a 4 year radiology residency at University of California, Davis. He is board certified in radiology and has special interests in MRI and exotic animal radiography. He has published scientific articles and book chapters, and has lectured on topics including MRI, ultrasound, and radiography in both regional and national meetings. He authored the Handbook of Veterinary Contrast Radiography. Recent publications include evaluation of the thyroid to background ratio as a predictor of I-131 treatment success. Besides clinical radiology Dr. Wallack has a special interest in the use of technology to improve efficiency and veterinary radiology education. He has submitted a patent for use of 3G technology in ultrasound streaming and is the founder and current director of the American Association of Veterinary Radiologists.

Holly McCort, DVM Diplomate, A.C.V.R.
Board Certified Specialist in Veterinary Radiology

Dr. McCort received her degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following her internship she stayed at Auburn and completed a 3 year residency program in radiology. Dr. McCort is board certified in radiology and has special interests in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT). She has lectured on topics such as diagnostic imaging of portosystemic shunt, feline lung patterns, thoracic CT and cardiac MRI.

William A. Ladd, MD, Consulting Radiologist

Dr. Ladd is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology. He received his training at the Massachusetts General Hospital and holds a masters degree in nuclear physics from MIT. Dr. Ladd specializes in Diagnostic Radiology, Neuroradiology, and Nuclear Medicine. Currently, Dr. Ladd is a partner and former president of the La Jolla Radiology Medical Group as well as a Voluntary Associate Clinical Professor of Radiology at the UCSD School of Medicine here in San Diego. Previously, Dr. Ladd was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology at the UT Health Science Center San Antonio and at the UCSD School of Medicine. While at the Wilford Hall USAF medical center in San Antonio, TX, he was the Section Chief for chest and mammography. In 2005 and 2007 Dr. Ladd was one of the doctors who received the San Diego County Medical Society Top Doctor Award.

Deon Spencer, RVT

Deon Spencer is one of our excellent imaging technicians. Deon is responsible for performing many of the advanced imaging studies at VICSD, including MRI, CT and Nuclear Medicine. She has over 10 years experience in veterinary medicine with extensive training in Emergency and Critical Care Services. Aside from her imaging duties, Deon assists in the daily care of our hyperthyroid patients.

Heather O’Brien, LVT

Heather O’Brien is one of our excellent imaging technicians. She is responsible for performing many of the advanced imaging studies at VICSD, including MRI, CT and Nuclear Medicine. She has over 10 years experience in veterinary medicine with extensive training in Radiation Therapy and Emergency medicine.

Ann Bettencourt, DVM

Dr. Bettencourt received her degree in veterinary medicine from the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a small animal rotating internship at Animal Emergency and Referral Center near Chicago, IL. Dr. Bettencourt is currently participating in a diagnostic imaging internship at VICSD. She has a special interest in nuclear medicine and ultrasound. At the conclusion of her internship, she will enter into a radiology residency program at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.

Cortney Phillips, Client Services

Cortney brings years of customer service experience with her to VICSD. She is the first point of contact for clients and referring veterinarians alike. Cortney has a special interest in our Hyperthyroid patients and maintains our extensive treatment database. On a daily basis, Cortney demonstrates her commitment to providing client service that is second to none.
